# Lock files in plain sight

Your files go inside an everyday photo. It still opens like normal; your files appear only with your password.

Local vaults stay on your device. Cloud storage is optional and sends encrypted bytes to your own bucket.

## How it behaves

- **No account**: No sign-up and no email address. There is nothing to sign in to.
- **Works offline**: Once this page has loaded, it keeps working with the connection off.
- **Cover files**: A photo, a PDF, or a video can hold a locked file — PNG, JPEG, PDF, MP4.
- **Built-in viewer**: Photos, video, and PDFs open inside HideFile. You do not have to take them out first.
